At yesterday’s second Shareholder Meeting of 2021 – sadly once again online – Kerstin Steffens from FEGIME Deutschland handed over the Presidency to Florin Nicolae from FEGIME Romania and took her leave from office. Lars Kestner from FEGIME Denmark was welcomed to the Board to replace her.

In a very emotional speech, Kerstin explained to members that she was not just retiring from her international duties: “The time has come for me to say goodbye: not only as President of FEGIME, but also to FEGIME Deutschland and the whole electrical sector. Over the coming months, I will devote myself to other tasks.”

We would like to thank Kerstin for her many years of selfless service to FEGIME and to join her in welcoming her successors. We wish them all the best for the future!

Incoming President, Florin Nicolae, summed up the aims he has set himself for his Presidency: “I intend to maintain the leading position that the FEGIME group has in the market by focusing on three main strategic pillars: digital transformation to adapt our members’ businesses to new market trends; expansion of the group by welcoming into its ranks new organisations that meet our standards and succession to prepare the younger generations to carry on the work of our member companies in the future.”

 

To stress the equality of all member countries FEGIME has a rotational system for the Board of Directors. At the second meeting of the year the Presidency is always passed on to the next recipient and the outgoing President leaves to be replaced by a new board member.
