BP S.A. | Argentina

In 2024, BP S.A. partnered with Re-Forest Latam to launch a groundbreaking forest regeneration project in the Yungas region of northern Argentina. The initiative combines biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and drones to restore 14 hectares of native forest in Tucumán, addressing biodiversity loss, carbon capture, and ecosystem degradation with cutting-edge precision and speed.
This intelligent reforestation approach includes iSeeds (biodegradable seed capsules), drone-based dispersion, and satellite monitoring—resulting in an estimated 15,800 tons of CO₂ captured and a projected 30% increase in biodiversity. The project also creates 14 green jobs and promotes environmental education for local communities, contributing to several UN Sustainable Development Goals.
More than a local solution, this project represents a replicable model of how technology, innovation, and corporate leadership can align to generate lasting environmental and social impact—positioning BP as a pioneer of smart sustainability in Latin America.
